Teaching Experience

  • Art Instructor, Pine Street Women’s Inn, Boston, MA.  Provide supportive art-making climate for the clients of The Pine Street Women's Inn.  Ongoing.
  • Artist-in-Residence, Fuller Craft Museum, Brockton, MA  Designed program “My Nature/OUR Nature” to address the emotional and cognitive development needs of young adults.  using nature exploration and experience as a source of inspiration and self-discovery for urban teens with very little exposure to nature’s healing beauty..  Over the course of ten weeks, worked with seven teens from the Champion Charter School in Brockton to develop a collaborative installation that evolved within the museum gallery space.  March to May 2008.
  •  Residency at Susan B. Anthony Middle School, Revere, MA.  Developed program based on theme “Sequence, Rhythm and Change” that culminated in a collaborative suspended sculpture in the library.  January/February 2008.
  • Instructor, Montserrat Continuing Education , Beverly, MA.  Taught the course “Digging Deep: Building a Strong Personal Visual Language”.  September-November 2007.
  • Instructor, Bowditch House/Pine Street Inn, Jamaica Plain, MA.  Taught 12 week workshop entitled “ Drawing from Experience” to Bowditch House’s transitional housing residents.  June-August 2007.
  • Pre-College Installation Workshop, Montserrat College of Art, Beverly, MA.  July-August 2006. 
  • Residency at Kidspace @ Mass MoCA., North Adams, MA.  Worked on-site in the gallery and in the schools with children from three area school districts, Grades K-5.  Also taught high school after-school program in the gallery workshop.  Sept. 2005 to March 2006.
  • Residency at Boston Public Library, South End Branch.  Created and led a program entitled “A Universe in One Block”, working with summer camp groups.  Summer residency July 2003.
  • Boston Center for the Arts, Mentorship Program. Teaching traditional drawing technique. 2001 to present. Also working with Magda Spasiano, BCATeen Program Coordinator, on mentorship program development.
  • Montserrat School of Art, Beverly, MA. Led group-drawing project with faculty and students. October 2001.
  • Montserrat School of Art, Beverly, MA. Workshop in Meredith Davis' "Flexible Structures" sculpture class. October 2001.
  • Boston Center for the Arts, Teen Program, Boston, MA. Conducted the course Environments/Ecosystems/Installation in my studio with a group of teens. February thru April 2001.
  • Boston After School Program. South End Public Library. Led workshops for groups of students ranging from 9 to 13 years of age. Developed a group drawing project based on the scientific principles of complexity and emergent order. May 2000.
